In May 2024, the Abraham Lincoln Center Executive Director, Dr. William E. Hardy, led a teacher professional development workshop seminar on Abraham Lincoln for 8th Grade Knox County, TN Social Studies teachers. For this seminar, Dr. Hardy pulled together a number of Lincoln primary sources to create a documentary reader. The sources included in the reader were carefully chosen to focus on Lincoln's changing attitudes with respect to both slavery and race over the course of his political career.
