Lincoln Memorial University Assistant Professor and Lincoln Scholar, Dr. William E. Hardy, recently talked about how baseball came to Knoxille, Tennessee after the American Civil War. In his talk, which was based on his most recent article, "'A Perfect Mania': The Origins of Base Ball in Knoxville, Tennessee," Dr. Hardy shared stories about some of the early base ball club and players. The East Tennessee Historical Society hosted this event. C-SPAN was in attendance and recorded the presentation, which they have begun airing as part of their American History TV series.
